Egypt striker Ahmed 'Kouka' Hassan continued his impressive start to the season after netting twice to give Olympiacos a 2-0 victory over Apollon Smyrnis in the Greek league on Saturday. Kouka went close to breaking the deadlock early in the second half with a towering near-post header that the keeper superbly saved before making amends on 65 minutes to give Olympiacos a deserved lead. He pounced on a loose ball to beat the keeper at his near post with a low shot following a goalmouth scramble. Kouka added the second seven minutes later when he slid in at the far post to convert a low cross in off the keeper. The 27-year-old took his tally to three goals in the first five games of the season as Olympiacos moved joint top with 13 points. He also gave the team a precious 1-0 victory over Marseille after scoring in stoppage time in their Champions League group-stage opener earlier this month. Kouka will now link up with his Egypt teammates for a double header against Togo in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
