Mohsen scores twice as champions Ahly ease to 3-0 win over Enppi
Published in Ahram Online on 07 - 10 - 2020

A double from Marwan Mohsen helped Ahly to their second straight win under new coach Pitso Mosimane as they easily beat Enppi 3-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.
Mohsen, who was subjected to fierce criticism this season because of some below-par displays, opened the scoring in superb fashion as early as the fourth minute.
He ran onto a long ball from central defender Ayman Ashraf to spring the offside trap, control it on his chest before chipping it over the advancing keeper and into the net.
The second was even better as Mohsen finished off a flowing move that started from the halfway line on 17 minutes, with the dominant Ahly ending the game as a contest.
A pass on the turn from winger Hussein El-Sahahat released left-back Ahmed Fathi, who pulled the ball back to Mohsen to fire into the bottom corner from inside the area and take his tally to seven league goals this term, a meager return for Ahly's main striker.
Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi completed the rout with 10 minutes remaining, stabbing the ball into an empty net after a low shot from playmaker Magdi Afsha was pushed into his path.
South African boss Mosimane enjoyed his second win at the helm after his debut saw Ahly beat Arab Contractors 1-0 in their previous game.
They produced more flair against Enppi, giving Ahly's demanding fans some room for optimism as the team gear up for a mouthwatering two-legged clash against Morocco's Wydad in the African Champions League semifinal later this month.
Ahly, who won the league for a fifth straight season with six rounds to spare last month, have two matches remaining in their domestic campaign against Pyramids FC and Talae El-Geish.
