The Ivory Coast football federation says negotiations are ongoing with national team coach Francois Zahoui despite his contract having expired at the end of the African Cup of Nations nearly two months ago. Federation spokesman Pierre Gondo said Tuesday “that doesn't mean he is no longer the coach” after Zahoui led Ivory Coast to the African Cup final on 12 February. Ivory Coast lost to underdog Zambia in a penalty shootout loss in the final to put Zahoui's job in doubt. But the team didn't concede a single goal at the tournament and won all five matches before the final. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter: @AO Sports)
