The Covid-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm and people are experiencing the best and worst of human emotions – empathy, kindness, social cohesion, but also anger, frustration, and fear. The shut-down has forced people to come up with numerous innovative ideas and ways to overcome their physical separation and isolation. They have turned to meditation and exercise as well as art. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is organising a global art competition to capture Covid-19 inspired emotions calling on professional and amateur artists from India and the entire world to express themselves and their feelings, through a competition entitled “United against Corona: Express through Arts”. The competition opened on 2 April 2020 and the deadline for submissions will be 1 May 2020. More details can be found on the ICCR website.
