Egypt's fuel pricing committee has slashed fuel prices with the new prices to be applied from 8:00am Saturday, 11 April. The new prices include EGP 7.50 per litre for 92 octane gasoline, down from EGP 7.75, EGP 6.25 per litre for 80 octane gasoline, down from EGP 6.5 and EGP 8.50 per litre for 95 octane gasoline, down from EGP 8.75. This is the second cut the committee has made to fuel prices, after a slight reduction of EGP 0.25 per litre in October 2019. The government has raised fuel prices five times since 2014, completely lifting fuel subsidies.
