The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said it received a letter from the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) announcing the date of Egypt's game against Togo in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Egypt will face Togo in the third round of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers on 26 March. The fourth round will be played on 29 March. Egypt are competing in Group G of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, placed third on the group's ranking with two points. The Pharaohs opened their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign with a 1-1 draw to Kenya at Cairo International Stadium, following it with an away match against Comoros which ended in a goalless draw. Under the helm of coach Hossam El-Badry, who has faced some criticism due to Egypt's disappointing start to their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, Egypt will hold the next training camp in March. El-Badry said he intends to call up new faces for the team's upcoming training camp, adding that injecting new blood into the team is his priority for the time being. "There will be new faces in the coming training. Zamalek's striker Mostafa Mohamed is a strong candidate," El-Badry told ON Sport radio channel last month. "Other candidates include Smouha's left-back Ahmed Abul-Fotouh and Gouna's trio Ahmed Hamady, Ahmed Yasser Rayyan, and Akram Tawfik." Egypt landed a tricky draw for the group phase of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers as they were thrown into Group F along with Gabon, Libya, and Angola.
