Emirates Airline partners with Arab Hope Makers Initiative to build Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre in Cairo

Emirates Airline has pledged its support to help build the Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre in Cairo, to provide treatment for cardiovascular patients in Egypt and the Arab world at no cost.
According to a statement by Emirates Airline on Saturday, the hospital "will have the capacity to provide advanced cardiac care for 80,000 patients a year, and will be able to handle over 12,000 surgical and cardiac procedures."
Over 70 percent of those procedures will be earmarked for children with cardiovascular conditions, the statement said.
“We are proud to partner with the Arab Hope Makers initiative on this important project to help boost the quality of cardiovascular healthcare available to those who need it the most across Egypt and the wider Arab world," Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group said.
The Arab Hope Makers is one of the largest initiatives dedicated to celebrating flashes of hope in the Arab world by honouring people and institutions that pursue a humanitarian goal.
The initiative seeks to honour the people that launch humanitarian initiatives, projects and programmes that improve their communities, the quality of life in their environments and help those in need, making a positive impact on the lives of people around them.
"The work of the Arab Hope Makers initiative to expedite the building of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre in Cairo reflects the values and causes that we care about as an airline. Through our philanthropic projects at the Emirates Airline Foundation, we know first-hand the powerful outcomes of supporting communities and children around the world and the ripple effects they have to achieve long-lasting benefits. We now have the opportunity to reach even more children and help improve their health and well-being through the Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre," Al-Maktoum added.
The airline has been committed to supporting the communities it serves around the world for over 18 years. Emirates supports over 30 humanitarian and philanthropic projects in 16 countries through the Emirates Airline Foundation, its non-profit charity organisation which provides aid and services for children in need.
