Norwegian international referee Svein Oddvar Moen will be in charge of the Egyptian Super Cup between Ahly and Zamalek, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced Sunday. Moen, 41-years-old, officiated the Cairo derby in 2016 and he was also in charge of the Egypt Cup final in 2017 when Ahly defeated Masry 2-1.
He will be joined by assistant referees Magnus Lundberg and Kim Tomas Haglund.
2019 Champions Ahly will face Egypt Cup winners Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup that will take place in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday.
The EFA stressed that Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology will be on hand for the Super Cup match, adding that two Croatian referees will be in charge of the system during the game.
Ahly won the Egyptian Super Cup 11 times, while Zamalek will looking for a fourth title.
The Red Devils defeated Zamalek last time 3-2 in September.
