Egypt national team to choose 25 players for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

The Egyptian national team coaching staff will choose 25 players for the Pharaohs' camp ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Tanzania on 14 and 18 November respectively.
"Most probably the national team coaching staff led by Hossam El-Badry will choose 25 players to join the camp," the national team director Mohamed Barakat told Sada El-Balad TV channel.
"There is no intention of making large changes to the list that played the friendly against Botswana," he added.
Barakat also revealed that El-Badry seeks to play another friendly ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers; however, its fate has not yet been decided due to Egypt hosting the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations from 8 till 22 November.
The Egyptian Football Association revealed on Tuesday that El-Badry has settled on a list of 40 players from which they can make selections for the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros.
"This number came as a result of Hossam El-Badry and his assistants monitoring all the local games, in addition to every match abroad that included an Egyptian footballer," Barakat said in a statement published on the Egyptian Football Association's (EFA) Facebook page.
The Pharaohs are hosting Kenya on 14 November, then flying to face Comoros on 18 November.
The preparatory camp will start on 28 October after the league suspension ahead of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations – the tournament which qualifies teams for the 2020 Olympics – is hosted by Egypt from 8 to 22 November.
Newly appointed El-Badry has led Egypt in one friendly match against Botswana which ended in a 1-0 victory for the Pharaohs.
