Del Bosque drops Torres from Spain squad Fernando Torres was one of two World Cup champions dropped from Spain's squad by coach Vicente del Bosque for an international friendly against Venezuela
Torres and Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez were left off the team for Wednesday's match, with Del Bosque offering the penultimate squad list before Spain defends its European title. Del Bosque says Torres' omission “doesn't mean anything. This is not a definitive list for Euro (2012).” Torres has been a regular in Spain's team since 2004, with the Chelsea striker scoring the winning goal against Germany in the Euro 2008 final for Spain to win its first major trophy in 44 years. Torres' last competitive goal for Spain came in September 2010. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter: @AO_Sports)
