Rwanda and Sudan claimed precious away wins in the first leg of preliminary round of the 2022 African World Cup qualifiers after beating Seychelles and Chad on Thursday. Rwanda hammered Seychelles 3-0 in Victoria courtesy to goals from Muhadjiri Hakizimana, 32, Yannick Mukunzi, 36 and Meddie Kagere, 80. Ramadan Ragab was the hero for Sudan as he bagged a hat-trick on 13, 67 and 76 minutes to give his side a huge boost ahead of the return leg. Ezechiel N'Douassel scored a late consolation goal for Chad 3-1. The preliminary round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers that take place from 4 to 10 September includes 28 teams who play over two legs. The 14 winners will join the continent's top 26 teams in the second round as the 40 teams will be drawn into 10 groups of four. The 10 group winners will qualify for the final knockout round, played over two legs. The five winners of those ties will represent the continent in the 2022 World Cup.
