Egypt's Al-Azhar, the world's leading Sunni Islamic institution, condemned the two suicide bombings that targeted security forces in the Tunisian capital on Thursday. The attack killed one officer and wounded 8 others. Al-Azhar asserted that the targeting and killing of civilians is a grievous sin which, all religions reject and curse its perpetrators.
It called for the need to unite sincere efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Al-Azhar also extended its sincere condolences to the Tunisian people and to the relatives of the deceased, praying for Allah to tolerate him with his forgiveness and mercy.
“May Allah grant the injured ones a speedy recovery and the world security and peace,” Al-Azhar said.
