PM El-Ganzouri to address People's Assembly Tuesday Prime minister expected to cite govt's achievements regarding activists injured and killed during last year's uprising
Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri is scheduled to deliver his first speech in the newly elected People's Assembly (the lower house of Egypt's bicameral parliament) on Tuesday. El-Ganzouri's address is expected to include a rundown of the current government's achievements to date regarding activists injured and killed during and after last year's Tahrir Square uprising. Tuesday's session is also expected to be attended by Insurance and Social Affairs Minister Nagwa Khalil and Finance Minister Momtaz El-Saeed, as well as secretary-general of the recently-established Supreme Council for the Revolution's Martyrs Hosni Saber. Egypt's ruling military council appointed El-Ganzouri head of Egypt's interim cabinet in December in a move that has been fiercely opposed by several revolutionary parties and forces.
