Egyptian side Masry have asked the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to appoint a foreign referee crew to officiate the team's league clash against Ahly, set to be played next week. "We asked [the EFA] to appoint a foreign referee against Ahly," Masry official Adnan Halabeya told an Egyptian radio station on Tuesday. "The coming period is critical for all teams in the table and there is no room for mistakes." Many Egyptian league clubs have expressed their displeasure over the performance of the Egyptian referees in the domestic league this season. The EFA has opened the door for clubs to appoint foreign referees, but said that interested clubs should pay the expenses ($25,000) Pyramids games have been already officiated by foreign referees since last January, while Zamalek asked the EFA last march to appoint foreign referees for their remaining games in the domestic league. Masry are now fourth on the league table with 46 points, 12 behind leaders Ahly.
