Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi has received on Sunday his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi at the Conference Palace in capital Tunis on the sidelines of 30th Arab Summit, which is due to kick off later in the day. El-Sisi arrived Sunday in Tunisia to take part in the 30th Arab Summit. He was welcomed by Tunisian officials and a military parade at Carthage airport. The two-day Arab Summit titled “ Uniting the Vision and the Word” will tackle a number of Arab issues, including the Palestinian crisis , the Syrian and Libyan files. It is also expected to adopt a resolution against the US recognition of Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. The summit will also address the status of Jerusalem and the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Some 14 Arab leaders and heads of states are participating in the summit, including Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz , Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah , Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah of Jordan. Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has participated in the preparatory meetings for the summit held in Tunisia on Friday and Saturday. The Arab Summit preparatory meetings held on the level of foreign ministers reiterated rejection of the US's decision on the Golan Heights and any decision that affects the legal status of Jerusalem.
