The YouTube livestream of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Giza Pyramids on 15 March has been viewed over 2.3 million times as of Monday.
The concert, the first to be held at the site since pianist Yanni's in 2015, was attended by around ten thousand fans.
In their first appearance in Egypt, the American funk-rock band walked the audience through their numerous hits including Can't Stop, Californication, Don't Forget Me, Dark Necessities and numerous others.
They also had a surprise for the Cairo crowd: a performance of Radiohead's Pyramid Song, from their fifth studio album Amnesiac, released in 2001.
After the concert, the band wrote on their Twitter and Instagram account: “I love you Egypt! You are wild and beautiful and send my imagination flying! Hopefully we will be back to play again soon! Inshallah!”
Chad Smith, the band's drummer, held a jamming session-turned-concert with the Egyptian musicians at El Sawy Culturewheel on 13 March.
