Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has submitted official papers confirming that he will seek re-election, Ennahar TV said on Sunday, despite mass protests against the move. Thousands have marched in Algerian cities and towns in protest at the 82-year-old's plan to stay in office despite years of ill health in which he has largely dropped out of public view.
