Egypt condemned on Sunday a terrorist attack that targeted a security convoy in the disputed region of Kashmir, killing 44 policemen and injuring others. In an official statement, Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez expressed his sincerest condolences to the families of the victims, hoping for a speedy recovery for the injured. The statement reiterated Egypt's call to intensify international efforts to eradicate terrorism. The car bomb attack, carried out on Thursday, was claimed by Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad and carried out by a 20-year-old Kashmiri man. It is the deadliest on Indian security forces in decades. The attack has inflamed tensions between India and Pakistan, with Islamabad stressing that it has no connection to the militant group that carried out the bombing.
