Morocco's Assaidi ready for CAN challenge Morocco's striker Oussama Assaidi is ready for the upcoming African Cup of Nation after recovering from injury
Morocco's coach Eric Gerets revealed on Thursday that his striker Oussama Assaidi has recovered from injury and will be fit to join the Atlas Lions' trainings on Friday. “We have some minor injuries but it is not a big problem. Concerning Oussama Assaidi he will join the trainings on Friday. It's good news," said the coach. The Heerenveen striker had been suffering from an Achilles injury which made his participation at the CAN in doubt. The 23-year-old striker has been in fine form for his Dutch club this season, scoring seven goals in 12 matches, and is tipped as one of the players to watch in the African Cup of Nations, due to start on 21 January.
