Egypt witnessed a small earthquake on Monday afternoon, with the tremor measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale according to Hatem Ouda, head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics. The quake hit at 12:37pm local time. The institute has not received any reports on casualties or damage to property, Ouda said in statements to MENA. The epicentre is located in the Katamiya district in Cairo, 20 kilometres below sea level, he said.
