New-signings Awad and El-Sayed set for Zamalek debut Zamalek's January signings could make their debut in Thursday's league match against promoted Dakhleya
Islam Awad and Nour El-Sayed, two of Zamalek's latest signings, will be included in the club's squad for Thursday's Egyptian Premier League match against Dakhleya. Awad, who can play as a central midfielder or winger, joined Zamalek from ENPPI, while El-Sayed arrived from Gouna as manager Hassan Shehata seeks to strengthen his midfield. Cameroonian midfielder Alexis Mondomo, who also joined the Cairo giants in the course of the ongoing winter transfer window, has not made the team's squad but is expected to take part in Friday's training. Striker Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido,' who will undergo a special weight-loss programme, was also left out. Zamalek are third in the league table with 29 points, two behind surprise leaders El-Hodoud.
