Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed military and security cooperation with Sudan's Defence Minister Awad Ibn Ouf during talks in Cairo Wednesday, El-Sisi's spokesman said. The two leaders underlined the need to push ahead with bilateral coordination "on addressing current regional security challenges and on ways to maintain peace and security in the region and the African continent," spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement published on Facebook. The duo emphasised the importance of strengthening military and security cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of intelligence and military production. Last month, Egypt's Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki held talks with his Sudanese counterpart in Sudan in which the two discussed joint efforts to combat terrorism and illegal migration as well as ways to secure borders and prevent organised crime.
