Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met Sudanese Defence Minister Awad Ibn Ouf in Cairo on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation, El-Sisi's office has said. According to the statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, Ibn Ouf passed on greetings from President Omar Al-Bashir to his Egyptian counterpart. The two men also discussed coordination between the ministries of defence in Egypt and Sudan, in order to overcome any obstacles that could affect the EgyptianSudanese relations. El-Sisi told the Sudanese defence minister that "the current phase demands more coordination and consultation between the two neighbouring countries," according to the statement. He also added that "any problems should not affect strong Egyptian-Sudanese relations." The Sudanese ambassador in Cairo and Egyptian Defence Minister Sedky Sobhi also attended the meeting. On Sunday, Sobhi held a meeting with his Sudanese counterpart in Cairo where they discussed security and military cooperation between the two countries.
