Cairo giants Ahly are looking to offload South African winger Phakamani Mahlambi just one season following his arrival after he failed to convince new coach Patrice Carteron that he is good enough to remain with the team. "We received several offers for Phaka and we are now considering them to choose what's best for the club and the player too," assistant coach Mohamed Youssef told Ahly's official website on Saturday. The 20-year old pacy winger joined Ahly from South Africa's Bidvest Wits in the summer of 2017 and played only 12 league games, mostly as a substitute, scoring a solitary goal and totaling 606 minutes of play. Phaka is now deemed surplus to requirements, especially given that the Red Devils already have a maximum of four foreign players in their squad: Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul, Moroccan striker Walid Azaro, Nigerian winger Junior Ajayi and Malian defender Salif Coulibaly who arrived last month Youssef also revealed that striker Amr Gamal received several offers and he will choose his next destination in the coming few days. Gamal spent last season on loan at Finland's HJK Helsinki. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at @AO_Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports.)
