The International Russian Camp in Turkey is continuing its educational and cultural programme, which opened on 5 June in the mountainous city of Jonyuk, an hour from Antalya in Turkey. Participating in the camp are delegations from 10 countries: Russia, Egypt, Turkey, Hungary, Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Slovakia, Vietnam and South Africa. According to Sherif Gad, supervisor of the Egyptian delegation and director of the Cultural Programme at the Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo, the camp offers a range of activities for children in various artistic domains such as theatre, cinema, photography, acting, expressionist dance, drawing, and singing. This is in addition to training children how to organise the International Children's Parliament and to organise watching the World Cup games. “We have succeeded in implementing the educational and cultural programme in the first half of the camp with the participation of all the delegations, and we are moving on to the second stage," said camp programme director Elena Nekhorosheva. According to Nekhorosheva, the second stage involves working "on the initiatives of the children themselves, and implementing these initiatives by relying on [the children's] personal efforts without any interference, and having them lead the camp themselves." “On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, we congratulated the Islamic delegations and provided a bus in the morning to go to Eid prayers and then distribute sweets among all participating delegations. We are also preparing for the closing ceremony and granting gifts to the winners in various competitions,” said camp supervisor Oksana Malofeeva.
