Diouf snubs Anzhi Makhachkala, extends Doncaster deal
Senegalese forward El Hadji Diouf opts to prolong his stay at Doncaster Rovers rather than joining Russia's Anzhi Makhachkala

El Hadji Diouf has agreed to stay at English Championship (second-division side) Doncaster Rovers, according to Sky Sports.
The Senegalese forward, who was given a five-year ban by his country earlier this year for making remarks about corruption in African football, initially joined Doncaster on a three-month deal in November.
He said recently he was in talks to join wealthy Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala but he eventually opted to pen a new 18-month contract with Doncaster.
“Yesterday, I talked with the club and I agreed to sign a new deal for one-and-a-half years. Why not? I am happy here,” Diouf, who left English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers last summer, told SkySports.
"We have a good team. We laugh on and off the pitch. We are doing well. Why not stay?”.
Diouf has previously played for Liverpool, Bolton, Sunderland and Blackburn in England but many of his spells in the elite Premier League were marred by constant disciplinary problems.
The 30-year-old has won the African Footballer of the Year award twice in 2001 and 2002.
