Egyptian player Mohamed El-Shorbagy defeated his compatriot and world number five Karim Darwish 3-1 on Fridayto set up a semi-final clash againstFrenchman Gregory Gaultier in the $1,65,000 Punj Lloyd PSA Masters. El-Shorbagy won the first game 11/9 but Darwish leveled the score with a 11-8 win in the second. However, El-Shorbagy won the last two games 11/5 and 11/3 to book a semi-final berth. It is the first ever win for El-Shorbagy overDarwish who had reached the final in both of the last World Series. The first seed Egyptian Ramy Ashourwas eliminated fromthe tournament after losing to Englishman Peter Barker 3-1 (11/13, 11/7, 11/8 and 11/1) in the quarter final, which also took place on Friday. El-Shorbagy will face fourth seed Gaultier on Saturday 17 December.
