Zamalek to face Tanzania's Young Africans in Champions League The draw for the African Champions preliminary round pits Zamalek against Tanzania's Young Africans
Cairo giants Zamalek will take on Tanzania's Young Africans in the preliminary round of the 2012 African Champions League, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Saturday. The first leg will be played in Tanzania on 17,18 or 19 February, while Cairo will host the second leg on 2, 3 or 4 March. If Zamalek, who finished as the Egyptian Premier League runners up last season, overcome Young Africans, they will face either Missile of Gabon or Africa Sport of the Ivory Coast in the round of 32. Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahly were given a bye into the round of 32, where they were to face either Coin Noir Mitsamiouli of Comoros or Ethiopia's Ethiopian Coffee. Ahly are the record holders of Africa's premier club competition with six titles under their belt, one ahead of Cairo foes Zamalek.
