Promising Egyptian Taekwondo athlete Seif Eissa has signed a sponsorship contract with the German Lebanese Company (GLC) and a media and advertising sponsorship deal with Al-Ahram. "I am so happy and excited about the contract, although it gives me the big responsibility of becoming a professional athlete. I will need to focus more," Eissa told reporters during a presser held Monday in a Cairo hotel. "I am targeting a medal in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo," he added. The sponsorship deal includes funding the athlete's traveling fees for competitions and training camps. Sports minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz attended the ceremony hailing the deal and promised more support for other athletes ahead of the Olympics. "It's very important to have business entities that sponsor athletes in cooperation with the government alongside civil society organizations and media, as we see happening today in support of Seif Eissa. There will be more sponsorship for athletes soon ahead of Tokyo Olympics," Abdel-Aziz stated.
