Egyptian league hopefuls Zamalek will be looking to prove they have fully recovered from their recent setback with a second straight victory over Petrojet when both sides meet at the Cairo Stadium on Friday. Following a three-match winless streak that ended with an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Smouha, the Whites were able to bounce back with a convincing victory with the same scoreline against Wadi Degla last week. Having seemingly found his best starting lineup against Degla following a period where he was forced to try and test many summer-signings, Zamalek manager Nibojsa Jovovic will be hoping results would go his way from now on. Zamalek, however, are not expected to have a walk in the park against a resilient Petrojet side – who have only been dealt a single defeat (a 1-0 loss to Masry) so far this season. Lying sixth of the league table, just one place off Zamalek, Petrojet managed to beat third-from-bottom side Nasr last week – a win that followed three consecutive draws. Zamalek will still be missing keeper Ahmed El-Shennawi due to flu, with the international keeper missing last week's win over Degla – where backup keeper Mahmoud Gennesh stood between the posts. Otherwise, Zamalek have no major absences – with flamboyant playmaker Ayman Hefni making the squad again after recuperating from a long-term injury. Zamalek, who last won the league title in 2015, face Nasr the following week.
