Second Al-Ahram Media Awards honour best Egyptian Ramadan TV series for 2017

The second edition of Al-Ahram's awards for television drama was held yesterday, honoring the best of the TV series to air last Ramadan.
The jury members, who include Tarek El-Shenawy, Kahireya El-Shelawy, Magda Moris and Mona Ragab, presented the awards.
The ceremony was attended by Culture Minister Helmy El-Nam Nam, Al-Ahram Chairman Abdel-Mohsen Salama, the head of the National Journalism Authority Karam Gabr, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram Daily Newspaper Alaa Thabet.
Television series Dhel El-Raes the award won for best series as well as best director for Ahmed Samir. Dina Fouad and Ehab Fahmy were awarded best supporting actor and actress for their roles in the series.
The series Wahet El-Ghoroub earned Kamla Abu Zekry the award for best director, Hala El-Zaghandy for best scriptwriter, and Tamer Karawan for best soundtrack.
The award for best scriptwriter went to the late Mahfouz Abdel-Rahman, and was received by his wife Samira Abdel-Aziz on his behalf.
The award for best actor went to veteran actor Ezzat El-Alaily for his role in Qasr El-Oshaq, as well as Nabil El-Helfawy for his role in Le Aala Sear, Sayed Ragab for his role in Ramadan Karim, and Amir Karara for Kalabsh.
The best actress award was shared by Yousra for El-Hesab Yegmaa and Nelly Karim for Le Aala Sear.
Ahmed Dawood won best young actor for Hatha Al-Masaa, and Sara Salama won best young actress for Le Aala Sear.
Youssef El-Sherif was honored for excellence for his role in Kafr Delhab, as was Hany Salama for his role in Taqet Nour, and Sherif Mounir for his role in El-Zebaq.
Amr Mostafa was awarded for his song in the intro for Le Aala Sear, while Hakim was awarded best singer for the intro of Ramadan Karim.
Laila Rostom was honored for her presentation of television programs.
Abdel-Rahman Abo Zahra and Nadia El-Guindy were both honored for their longtime contribution to cinema and television.
The award for best production company went to B-Link. DMC channel and MBC were awarded for best screening channels.
