Egypt seizes every gold medal at Speed-Ball World Championship

The Egyptian national team won every gold medal in an incredible victory at this year's 29th Speed-Ball World Championship, which took place in Sharm El-Sheikh between 27 and 30 October.
The Pharaohs won a total of 13 medals -- all golds -- in all senior and junior disciplines, while dominating every super-solo, single, and double competitions.
The Tunisian team finished in second place after winning nine medals, with Poland following in third with six.
The championship, held at the Sinai coastal city's youth center, saw the participation of 16 total countries.
Among those competing were Germany, France, Poland, Algeria, Tunisia, Japan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, Sudan, South Sudan, Cameroon, UAE, Palestine, and India.
Currently spreading in popularity throughout the Middle East and Europe, the sport features a tethered ball which is hit by players with a lightweight racket.
Speed-ball was invented by Egyptian Mohammed Lotfy in the 1960s originally as a method for training tennis players.
