40,000 supporters to attend Ahly's Champions League semifinal

Egypt's Ahly said on Tuesday that up to 40,000 fans will be allowed to attend the second leg of their African Champions League semi-final against Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in Alexandria.
The club said on their official website that they were given the green light from security officials to host 40,000 supporters at the 86,000-seat Borg El-Arab Stadium in the anticipated clash on 22 October.
The eight-time African champions are looking to overcome their 1-2 first-leg defeat in Souse to reach their first final since 2013.
A crowed ban has been re-imposed in Egypt since February 2015 when 21 of Zamalek fans died in a stampede after being tear-gassed by security forces before the start of a league game against ENPPI at the Air defence stadium in Cairo.
Since then, the ban has been partially lifted in continental matches featuring Egyptian clubs as well as the games of the national team.
More than 60,000 supporters were present at the Borg El-Arab Stadium on Sunday when Egypt claimed a dramatic 2-1 victory over Congo to reach the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
