Ronaldo denies getting call to head WCup committee Retired Brazil striker Ronaldo says he hasn't received an invitation to replace Ricardo Teixeira as the head of the country's 2014 World Cup organizing committee
Teixeira, president of the Brazilian football federation, has been making changes to the sport recently and a local Brazilian newspaper said he would leave the presidency of the organizing committee to give way to Ronaldo. Ronaldo said Sunday at the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix that he was “surprised by all this speculation.” Teixeira on Friday named Corinthians president Andres Sanchez as the No. 2 man in Brazilian football, removing from himself the responsibility to head Brazilian national teams in all age categories.
