Ivory Coast slumped to a surprising 2-1 home defeat against Gabon in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Axel Meye opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute of the game, while Mario Lemina doubled the lead 10 minutes later.
Gabon's defensive midfielder Lloyd Palun was sent off just before the break after receiving his second yellow card in 12 minutes.
Maxwell Cornet scored the consolation goal for the Elephants but they couldn't get anything out of this game.
After Ivory Coast loss, Morocco have the chance to advance to the top of the group if they defeat Mali later on Tuesday.
Ivory Coast are on top of the group C with seven points, two ahead of Morocco.
In Group A, Tunisia came from behind to earn a 2-2 away draw with DR Congo to cement their place at the top of group A with ten points, three points ahead of second-placed DR Congo.
Chancel Mbemba gave DR Congo an early lead after ten minutes while Paul-Jose M'Poku made it 2-0, three minutes after the interval but an own goal from Congolese defender Wilfred Moke in the 78th minutes gave the chance to the Tunisians to return to the game around and snatch the equaliser one minute later thanks to Etoile du Sahel winger Anice Badri.
In Group D Cap Verde claimed a 2-1 away win over South Africa to advance into the second place on the group with six points.
