Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will visit France in the fall of this year upon an invitation from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, France's ambassador to Cairo Stéphane Romatet announced on Wednesday. Romatet told journalists that Paris appreciated Egyptian Ambassador Mohsira Khateb's candidacy for UNESCO secretary-general. Khateb faces French candidate Audrey Azoulay as a rival for the position. "It is all about honourable competition to choose the most competent candidate for the position," said Romatet, who appointed France's envoy to Cairo in July.
