In celebration of Eid Al-Adha, The Garage at the Jesuit Cultural Centre in Alexandria is to hold a music concert Friday, 4 November, featuring vibrant artist Maryam Salah. Salah is an independent Egyptian artist who has been singing and acting since the age of seven. She has worked with and co-founded a number of independent bands, sung semsemeya songs and was one of the most prominent performers of Sheikh Imam songs, after which she founded the BarakA band, which is a unique blend between Maryam's oriental voice and Rock music. Salah grew artistically at the hands of her father, director and playwright Saleh Saad who sang Sheikh Imam songs, and is now working on several new musical projects with different musicians from Egypt as well as the Middle East.
