Alexandrian officials reopened the city's main port on Sunday following two days of closure due to bad weather, the port authority spokesman said. In statements to state-owned MENA agency, spokesman Reda El-Ghandour said the port's main section was open for operations in the early hours of Sunday after the weather improved. On Friday, MENA reported that the port was closed as a precautionary measure to prevent ships from colliding with each other or with the ports' docks. Egypt has been experiencing a wave of cold weather in the past weeks, with moderate rain in some parts of the country and visible fog in the early mornings. Egypt's Meterological Authority has urged people to be careful while driving and to avoid all marine-related activities.
