"Shaabi" concert at El-Geneina Theatre on Thursday
The Out of the Picture Festival will host "shaabi" (popular) music tomorrow, Thursday, 20 October

For the first time since its founding, El-Geneina Theatre in Al-Azhar Park will host a day of shaabi music (street singers and musicians), tomorrow, Thursday, 20 October, featuring an inside look into Egypt's urban neighbourhoods through the music of Amr Haha, Figo, Alaa Fifty, Al-Sadat Rap, Ola El-Mansoura Star, Islam Chipsy, Khaled Mando, and Islam To'to.
In the context of a search for new meaning in music suitable to the political and social situation after the January 25 Revolution, and in the context of the spread of new types of music created by a new generation of Egyptian artists associated with shaabi (popular) neighbourhoods, communities and weddings, DJ Amr Haha will accompany popular stars as part of the special programme entitled "Out of the Picture."
The Concert will take place at El-Geneina Theatre on Thursday, 20 October, and Saturday, 22 October, at 8.30pm.
On Saturday, 22 October, the young star Ola El-Mansoura accompanied by her band will also join the concert.
