After his team beat newcomers El-Nasr Taadin at Aswan Stadium in the Egyptian league on Thursday, Zamalek coach Moamen Soliman said that the team had made a comeback from their 5-2 loss to Wydad in the CAF Champions League last week, arguing that they had dominated their foes and achieved their target. Zamalek wizard Ayman Hefni scored a goal and dished out another to lead his side to a 2-0 away victory against minnows El-Nasr Taadin on Thursday. Last week Zamalek lost to Morocco's Wydad Casablanca 5-2 in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semis away from home but they reached the final with 6-5 win on aggregate. "We are confident of the new signing players; I know we still have defence shortages, but we will work to avoid them in the coming games," Soliman told the post-game press conference. "We forgot Wydad's 5-2 stumble as during today's game we didn't receive any goals in our nets," he said. "We dominated our opponents and they didn't reach the defence area during the game," he added. Zamalek are currently gearing up for the CAF Champions League final first leg at South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns on 15 October. "We know Sundowns' players well as they defeated us in the group stage so we have to work hard to win the title," "I rested more players during Taadeen game to be ready for the CAF Champions League final," the Zamalek coach concluded.
