The state security prosecution today ordered the release of 11 detainees from among those arrested during the Israeli embassy clashes on 9 September. Among the detainees released today was cinema institute student Fady El-Sawy, whose friends, along with activists and filmmakers, had launched a campaign to free him. According El-Sawy's family, he was on his way back home from his part-time job when he was arrested during the clashes at the Israeli embassy in Giza between security forces and protesters. State security prosecution has also adjourned the case relating to the embassy clashes until 23 October. The detainees are facing charges of damaging public property and attempting to storm the Giza Security Directorate.
