AS Roma manager Luciano Spaletti was full of praise for the "poisonous" Mohamed Salah following the Egypt winger's superb display in the 4-0 Serie A thrashing of lowly Crotone on Wednesday. After being criticised by Spaletti for being wasteful in front of goal during Roma's 1-0 Serie A defeat to Fiorentina a week before, Salah was quick to respond against newly-promoted Crotone with a goal and an assist at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. "Against Crotone he was poisonous, he was very good," Spaletti said after the game. "Salah is devastating; he is capable of making these 60-70 metre-sprints needed for attacking transitions, that's why he should always stay ahead of his full-back." Salah's blistering pace and dangerous runs down the right were a constant threat throughout and it was not long when the 24-year-old scored a goal himself in the 37th minute before setting up striker Edin Dzeko with his side's fourth of the night. Despite continually posing threat down the right flank, it was the opposite side where Salah scored Roma's second, smashing the roof of the net from inside the area after a neat exchange of passes with Stephan El-Shaarawy. The goal notched by Dzeko, who similarly had to bear the brunt of Spaletti's attack following the defeat to Fiorentina, came following a trademark Salah run down the right before setting up the Bosnian for a simple tap-in. With the scoreline 4-0, Salah was substituted in the 67th minute after hitting his third Serie A goal this season, amid a standing ovation from the home crowd. Roma are currently third of the Serie A standings with 10 points, two ahead of leaders and defending champions Juventus.
