Egypt winger Mohamed Salah has been dropped from the Roma team that was held to a 1-1 away by Viktoria Plzen on Thursday. The 24-year-old winger has been omitted from the starting eleven for the first time since coach Luciano Spalletti took over last January. He was an unused substitute as Spalletti brought in Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Florenzi and Francesco Totti in an attempt to claim the winner. Diego Perotti opened the scoring in the 4th minute but the hosts leveled the score 7 minutes later courtesy of Marek Bakos. Salah played last Sunday against Sampdoria and scored a rare header to help Roma claim a tough 3-2 win. Coach Spalletti has previously expressed concerns over Salah's attitude. “We have to work. There are players, for example Mohamed Salah, who can be brilliant in fits and starts, but then get isolated during the game,” Sky Italia reported. Roma will play Fiorentina next Sunday in a crucial Serie A tie.
