According to a report by the Palestine section of the Defence for Children International (DCI) organization issued on Monday, the first stage of the Israel and Hamas prisoner swap deal to take place on Tuesday, does not include any children. It remains unclear whether any children will be released during the second stage of the prisoner swap deal. Based on the latest figures by the Israeli Prison Service and DCI-Palestine, the number of children currently in detention is 164, and their ages range from 12 to 17 years. Seventy-six of the children are facing detentions while 88 are in pre-trial detention. According to the report, approximately 7,500 children have been detained and persecuted by Israeli police. The majority of the children are charged with throwing stones at Israeli military forces.
