Egypt's wrestlers Hamdy Abd Elwahab and Adham Saleh failed to get past the round of 16 of the greco-roman wrestling after losing in the 98kg and 66kg categories respectively on Tuesday. Hamdy, 23 , lost 3-2 to Romania's Alin Ciurariu, while Saleh, 23, was defeated 9-0 by Armenia's Migran Arutyunyan by Great Superiority. Salah played in the repechage round 2 as Arutyunyan reached the final but he lost to Hansu Ryu of Korea 5-0. Egypt's wrestling Greco-Roman team headed to Rio 2016 games with six wrestlers. On Sunday, Mahmoud Fawzy Rashad, 24, lost to Elvin Mursaliyev of Azerbaijan in the under 75kg event, while Haitham Mahmoud lost 8-3 to Chol Yun of DPR Korea in the 59kg event. On Monday, wrestlers Abdellatif Mohamed and Ahmed Saad were also eliminated after losing in the qualifying round of the 130kg and 85kg events respectively. Abdellatif was beaten by Oleksandr Chernetskyy of Ukraine; the winner of the bronze medal of the 2015 World Championship in the 130kg event. In another Ukrainian job, Ahmed Saad was also dominated 9-0 by the 2015 World champion Zhan Beleniuk, who also won the 2016 European title in the 85kg event. Saad had the chance of playing in the repechage round 2 as Beleniuk reached the final. The Egyptian wrestler eventually lost to Nikolay Bayryakov of Bulgaria 2-1 later on Monday.
