Ismaily sack coach Hossam Hassan
After only two official matches in charge, Ismaily management decide to fire coach Hossam Hassan
Published in Ahram Online on 28 - 09 - 2011

The Ismaily board has decided to sack their new coach, Hossam Hassan, his brother, and football director Ibrahim, after the club was eliminated from the Egypt Cup in the quarterfinals on Monday.
“We have decided in our meeting late on Tuesday to thank coach Hossam Hassan for his efforts with the team and to appoint the club's former player, Mahmoud Gaber, as his replacement,” the coastal club said in a statement on its official website on Wednesday.
“The other members of the technical staff will remain in their posts,” added the statement.
The Dervishes had a dream start with Hassan, when they thrashed Beni Suef 4-0 in the round of 16 in the Egypt Cup, but they failed to proceed following a 3-1 defeat against Arab Contractors in the quarterfinals.
“The Cup exit is the main reason for the decision, but there are many other reasons,” the statement explained.
Earlier in August, the Ismailia-based club named Egypt's all-time leading scorer, Hossam Hassan, as their new coach just one month after he had been dismissed as coach by Cairo giants Zamalek.
The club is facing many administrative and financial problems recently due to lack of funding. The current board is the third in just six months.
