Concerts in Aswan and Cairo by Remix 2011 Remix 2011, a collaborative workshop of musicians from the Arab world and Central Asia, will hold two concerts at the end of the month
Al-Mawred Al-Thaqafy is holding two concerts along with the Agha Khan Cultural Institution that feature the works of the participants of the Remix 2011 workshop. Remix 2011 enables creative encounters among young musicians and composers from the Arab world and Central Asia — regions whose cultural links go back more than a millennium. During the workshop sessions, participants seek to reassemble diverse expressions of a shared musical heritage in contemporary forms. Musicians participating in this year's workshop come from Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
