Egypt's Elmohamady enthusiastic in his second season with Sunderland Egypt's winger Ahmed Elmohamady says he is on the right track with Sunderland after gaining more experience with Premier League affairs
Egypt's winger Ahmed Elmohamady has confirmed that he is a much-improved player for Sunderland as he is reaping the rewards of his English Premier League education. “I've been here for a year now and every game I learn something new,” the 24-year old player told Sunderland Echo on Tuesday. The Pharaohs international succeeded to turn his stay at the stadium of light into a permanent one this summer as he penned a three-year deal following his fine debut at the elite premier league, having initially joined the club last season on a year-long loan from Egypt's side ENNPI. “That's why I'm a better player than last season and I think we're seeing that with my performances. It was great for me to come back in the team and for us to win on Sunday as well,” explained the player who returned to the black cats starting line-up in Sunday's 4-0 win over stoke city after two games of absence. “I've got to try to keep my place though. “I work hard in training and during the games because I want to play every game,” he added. Elmohamady, who has 42 caps with Egypt, explained that his team must make the best use of their good start this season to continue their campaign successfully. “We started the season with two draws away from home [xx and xx] and we had two big games at home,” explained Elmohamady who made 38 appearances with Sunderland last season. “People might have been thinking we're not doing well, but we've had tough games. But we worked hard against Stoke and got the result we wanted. “It's very important for us to keep winning. “Sometimes you're down in the Premier League when you go a long time without a win. But after beating Stoke, we need to get another one. “It's always difficult against a team like that who play long balls. But I think we won because we tried to play football. It helped a lot that we got an early goal and they came quickly – one, two, three. “Every player did well, concentrated hard throughout the game. We were quick, strong and we'll do well if we play like that every game,” he concluded.
