African Olympic qualifiers draw to take place on 24 September The draw for the final phase of the Olympic qualifiers, which will determine Africa's representatives at the 2012 London Games, to take place on 24 September
The draw for an eight-team African qualifying tournament for next year's London Olympic Games will be held on 24 September, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) spokesman said on Saturday. Egypt will host the tournament, which will run from 26 November to 10 December. The eight sides left in the African qualifiers are Egypt, Algeria, Gabon, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa. They will be divided into two groups of four, with the winners qualifying directly for the London Games. The runners up in the two groups will face each other for another place in the Olympics. The losing team will still have a chance to qualify as they will face an Asian representative in a two-legged tie. Egypt, who are currently led by coach Hany Ramzy, have not qualified for the Olympic Games since 1992.
