Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil El-Arabi's visit to Damascus has been rescheduled from Wednesday to Saturday, sources reveal to Ahram Online. Earlier, diplomatic sources had told Ahram Online that the Syrian leadership had refused to receive El-Arabi,after being offended by press statements made by the diplomat on Tuesday afternoon. El-Arabi said he was going to Damascus, carrying a message for the Syrian leadership. In the context of widespread condemnation within the Arab world of the brutal repression of the Syrian people by President Bashar El-Assad's government, El-Arabi's statement seemed to imply that he was going to Damascus to urge its rulers to bring an end to the repression.
